Xbox April Update: Xbox Mobile App, Steam Your Own Game on Xbox Consoles, and More

As part of Xbox’s continued push to make gaming more available across more devices, Xbox is introducing several key features this week as part of its April Xbox Monthly Feature Update – including updates to the Xbox app on mobile, the expansion of the ‘Stream your Own Game’ feature to Xbox consoles, expanded remote play and more. See Xbox Wire for all the latest April updates here.

Buy Games, Join Game Pass, and Redeem Perks Directly from the Xbox App on Mobile:

A top-requested feature is finally here—players can buy games, join Game Pass, and redeem Perks directly from the Xbox app on mobile. Rolling out to beta users on iOS and Android, the experience will soon be available to all via the Google Play Store and Apple Store.

With a saved payment method, users can purchase games and add-on content with just two clicks. Pre-order and pre-install titles like Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater 3 + 4 or grab new releases like Assassin’s Creed Shadows and MLB The Show 25. Game Pass Ultimate members can also redeem in-game Perks, such as the Sea of Thieves Seventh Serving Emote, right from the Xbox app on supported devices.

Stream Your Own Games is Now on Xbox Consoles:

Following our November update that introduced “Stream your own game” on TVs and browsers, Xbox shared that the feature is now expanding to Xbox consoles. Starting today, Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members in all 28 countries where Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) is available can stream select games they own – beyond the Game Pass catalog – directly on Xbox Series X|S and Xbox One consoles through Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta).

This expansion marks another step in Xbox’s commitment to bring more games to more players on their own devices. With over 100 supported titles in the “Stream your own game” collection – including games such as LEGO Marvel Superheroes, Subnautica 2, and Monster Jam Showdown, players now have more freedom and flexibility to play without needing to install them.

Remote Play Now Supported on More Devices:

Players can now remotely access and play games installed on their Xbox consoles through their mobile browser, tablet, PC, and other select devices – including Samsung Smart TVs, Amazon Fire TV, and Meta Quest headsets – via xbox.com/remoteplay. Compatible titles from Xbox 360 and the original Xbox are now included, making it easier to access your full games library from anywhere.
